BIHAR ECONOMIC SURVEY- CONCEPT OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT:
Around 88-89% of bihar population reside in rural areas, bihar economic development greatly depends on developments of its rural areas, since rate of urbanization in bihar is only 11.4% in 2011.
The bihar govt. has adopted a strategic approach to invest in rural infrastructure and income generation programes. the role of MGNREGA in providing wage employment and restricting labour migration is notable in the recent years.
The state govt. is committed to uplift the social, economic, and political condition of rural people by strengthening the panchayati raj institutions, and also state govt. has been providing physical and financial support to improving living condition of all socially and economically weaker section of society.
Rural development requires a multi sectoral approach for making it sustainable and inclusive. for all inclusive well being of people, rural development specifically covers three inter related areas of developments- economic, social, and political.
All three dimensions encompass the provisions of the capacity and opportunity for the better living condition of rural people.
The state govt. relentlessly to achieve three sustainable development goal.
- SDG-1 : No poverty.
- SDG-5 : Gender equality.
- SDG-10: reduced inequality.
The aim of govt. to improve social and economic condition of the rural people through strong community institution, social capital, financial inclusion, health and nutrition, sanitation activities and livelihood programmes. State govt. launched "SATAT JIVEEKOPARJAN YOJANA " IN 2018.
Skill and placement under JEEVIKA- it has done tremendous work for livelihood promotion at the gross root level. Deen dayal gramin kaushal yojana, and roshani project and RSETIS are the some important initiative under taken by jeevika scheme . it also provide help to left wing extermism affected area.
