BIHAR ECONOMIC SURVEY- CONCEPT OF INFRASTRUCTURE:

NOTE: THE SOURCE OF DISCUSSION IS BASED ON BIHAR ECONOMIC SURVEY AND BUDGET.

The aim of sustainable goal-9(SDG-9) is to develop quality and resilient infrastructure at the regional and transborderlevels. the available and accessible infrastructure is an important driver for economic development. Infrastructure complements the economic growth and visa- versa. for instance, the development of transport infrastructure expands the scope and size of market and also improves productivity significantly, on the other hand, economic growth enables the state to create more infrastructure. apart from ensuring better economic growth prospect, integration of local markets with global markets, technology innovation, and the progress in infrastructure also helps in reducing poverty. Advancement in infrastructure enables better management of logistics by combining purchasing, production and marketing function.
The provision of infrastructure services is the shared responsibility of the central and state govt., in the present global economic order, private capital also plays avital role in infrastructure development
the physical infrastructure in bihar has been strengthen considerably during the last decade like road network, road transportation, railways, civil avitation, building construction, telecommunication, postal services, energy and irrigation projects.
To improve the road communication in bihar, the state govt. has launched an ambitious projects called bihar state highways projects, with financial support from Asian Development bank. The railwars cum road bridge on ganga river between Digha and Sonepore near patna has minimised the distance and travel tme for the freight as well as passengers.
